How far will your data go?
Choose an allowance to see what it could cover. Quality, compression and background activity change actual usage.
With 3 GB, approximately…
Send photos
≈ 600 photosExample: 5 MB per photo
Upload your own videos
≈ 47 clipsExample: a 1-minute Full HD clip ≈ 63 MB
Watch video
≈ 1 hrHD example: 3 GB per hour
At standard quality: ≈ 4 hr 17 min
Make video calls
≈ 2 hr 46 min1:1 at 720p: ≈ 1.08 GB per hour
Each result uses the whole allowance for that one activity. The results do not add up: maps, messages and other apps share the same data.
Taking photos or recording video on your phone does not itself use mobile data. Sending, watching or backing them up over the mobile network does.

Where these estimates come from
Planning examples, not guaranteed totals. We use 1 GB = 1,000 MB, round down complete files and minutes, and exclude overhead, retries and background traffic.
- 5 MB is Verizon’s high-resolution photo example. Your files can be smaller after compression or much larger as originals or RAW. Check the actual file size on your phone. Verizon ↗
- 63 MB models a 1-minute H.264 Full HD export at 24–30 fps using YouTube’s recommended video and stereo audio bitrates. It is not a universal camera-file size or the cost of watching a clip. YouTube ↗
- Viewing examples use Netflix’s published rates: up to 0.7 GB/hr at Medium and up to 3 GB/hr in HD. Other apps and quality settings can differ; these are not YouTube playback rates. Netflix ↗
- The call example uses Zoom’s 1:1 720p bandwidth: 1.2 Mbps up and 1.2 Mbps down, together about 1.08 GB/hr. Group calls and higher resolutions can use more. Zoom ↗

On iOS 26, a Turn On Travel eSIM notification may appear after arrival. Choose the travel line for data and check whether you also want to keep your home line active. If no notification appears, use the manual steps below.
Check when your package starts: at payment, installation or first connection. If it starts on installation, install nearer your trip. Installing later does not postpone a package that started at payment.
These screens show settings on the models named below. Your operator and eSIM labels will differ. Screens retain the source language; each caption translates and identifies the control to use. Tap any image for a closer look.

Give the new line a clear name
For example, “Letisim French Guiana”, so you can distinguish it from your home SIM. This is a label on your phone; it does not change the number or plan.
iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → new eSIM → Cellular Plan Label → Custom
Google Pixel / Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → new eSIM → Edit name
Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → new eSIM → Name
Huawei: SIM management → SIM 2 → your eSIM → Card name. You can keep the existing label if no rename option is shown.
Honor: SIM management → SIM 2 → eSIM name. Rename it if your MagicOS version offers this option.
Xiaomi / Redmi: Manage eSIM → your plan → Change nickname, if available.
Motorola: Open the new eSIM in SIM settings and use the edit-name option if available.
OPPO: Open the installed profile in eSIM settings and change its label if your ColorOS version allows it.
OnePlus: Open the installed eSIM and edit its name if the option is available.
Line name: Letisim French Guiana

Check roaming in your package guide
If your eSIM instructions require data roaming, enable it for the Letisim line. Keep data roaming off on your home SIM. If an APN is specified, use the exact value in your own package’s guide.
iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → Letisim → Data Roaming (sometimes under Cellular Data Options)
Google Pixel / Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Letisim → Roaming
Samsung: First select Letisim for mobile data, then Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Data roaming
Huawei: Open Mobile network → Mobile data and check data roaming for the travel SIM. Follow the settings in your package guide.
Honor: In the mobile-network settings, open the travel SIM’s data settings and enable roaming only if your package requires it.
Xiaomi / Redmi: In Mobile networks, open the travel SIM’s data-roaming settings. Use the roaming and APN values from your package guide.
Motorola: Open the travel eSIM’s network settings and check Roaming against your package instructions.
OPPO: Open the travel SIM’s mobile-network settings and enable data roaming if required by your package.
OnePlus: Open the travel SIM’s settings and check Data roaming against the instructions for your own package.

Check your connection
Turn off Wi-Fi and open a map or website. If it loads, mobile data is working. If it does not, turn airplane mode on for about 30 seconds, turn it off and wait for a connection. Recheck the selected line and package settings.

No second screen for your QR code?
If the scanner has a gallery button, save the QR from your order and choose that image. If your order includes manual installation details, choose Enter details manually and copy the fields exactly. The available methods depend on your phone and eSIM. If neither is available, contact support; do not scan a sample code from this guide or delete an installed eSIM.
Menu names can differ by phone model and system version.
04 / Operators
Mobile operators in French Guiana
Compare network coverage separately from speed. A national result does not predict reception inside your hotel or along a mountain road.
The list below covers the main consumer mobile networks publicly documented for French Guiana. eSIM packages may use only some of them, so always check the package screen for the actual network.
Orange Caraïbe
Orange Caraïbe publishes public mobile coverage information for Guyane and also has a separate 5G information page for the territory. [1] [2] [3]
Check coverage ↗Digicel AFG
Digicel publishes public coverage information for Guyane with 3G and 4G views. [1] [4]
Check coverage ↗SFR Caraïbe
SFR Caraïbe offers consumer mobile service in Guyane on its public pages. Check package details carefully, as no public mobile coverage map is provided on the cited consumer page. [1] [5]
Official website ↗The network in your chosen package is what matters. This country comparison does not mean every plan includes every operator. 5G depends on the package, phone and local coverage.
05 / Coverage
Coverage across French Guiana
Check the addresses and roads you will actually use. Save maps and booking details before leaving Wi-Fi.
- Cayenne and the coastal corridor
- Kourou and the spaceport area
- Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni and the west
- Salvation Islands and offshore visits
Cayenne and the coastal corridor
For city stays and airport transfers, prioritize dependable everyday mobile data for maps, messages and bookings. Check the operator coverage page for the neighbourhoods where you plan to stay. [2] [6]
Kourou and the spaceport area
If your route includes the space centre or coastal sights around Kourou, save tickets, addresses and a map before leaving Wi‑Fi. This is practical when moving between town and visitor areas during the day. [7] [8] [11]
Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni and the west
For westbound travel, save accommodation details and route information before a long road day. This is usually more useful than simply buying a larger package if your main needs are navigation, messaging and bookings. [9] [10] [11]
Salvation Islands and offshore visits
Before boat departures, download tickets and meeting-point details. Treat island visits as a separate trip segment from staying in Cayenne or Kourou and prepare key information in advance. [6] [8]

What matters for mobile internet in French Guiana
Trips in French Guiana usually split between a few practical travel patterns rather than one simple all-territory use case. Cayenne is where many travellers handle hotel check-in, navigation and everyday messaging, Kourou adds visitor sites around the space centre and the coast, and westbound travel toward Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni often means longer road segments. If your route also includes boat departures or day trips, it helps to keep tickets, saved addresses and a downloaded map ready before you leave Wi‑Fi.
For network choice, compare the operators with public information for Guyane and then check the selected eSIM package screen for the actual network it uses. Orange Caraïbe publishes mobile coverage information and a 5G page for Guyane, Digicel publishes coverage information with 3G and 4G views, and SFR Caraïbe confirms consumer mobile service in Guyane on its offer pages. The practical decision is to match your package to Cayenne, Kourou, Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni or a mixed route, rather than expect the same usage conditions everywhere.

Before you buy
Check the route, not only the package size
In French Guiana, day-to-day needs usually differ between Cayenne, visits around Kourou and westbound travel toward Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni. A practical choice is to match the eSIM package to your route, then verify coverage on the operator page for the areas where you expect to use maps, messages and bookings most often. [2] [4] [6] [7] [9]
Download key details before leaving Wi‑Fi
Saved addresses, booking confirmations, tickets and a downloaded map make arrival and day trips easier. This is especially useful when a trip combines city time, visitor sites and longer road or boat segments. [6] [7] [8] [10] [11]
06 / FAQ
Questions about eSIM in French Guiana
Which networks should I compare for a trip to French Guiana?
The main consumer networks with public information for Guyane are Orange Caraïbe, Digicel AFG and SFR Caraïbe. Compare them based on the places you will actually visit, such as Cayenne, Kourou or Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni, then check the package screen for the network used by the eSIM you want to buy. [1] [2] [4] [5] [12]
Will every French Guiana eSIM use the same network?
Not always. The package screen is the authoritative source for the network used by the selected eSIM. In the public catalog for French Guiana offers, Orange appears as a supplier network, but network availability depends on the exact package. [12]
Is city coverage the same as coverage around Kourou and visitor sites?
Not necessarily. Public operator pages show where service is published, but a city stay and a day around Kourou are different use cases. If you are visiting the space centre or coastal sights, save tickets, addresses and a map before leaving Wi‑Fi. [2] [4] [7] [8] [11]
What should I do if I am travelling west toward Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni?
Save accommodation details, directions and booking information before a long road day. For this part of the trip, good preparation is often more useful than simply choosing a larger package, especially if your main needs are navigation, messaging and access to reservations. [9] [10] [11]
How should I think about 4G and 5G when choosing a package?
Treat 4G and 5G as coverage and device-compatibility questions, not as a guarantee of the same experience everywhere. Orange Caraïbe publishes a 5G information page for Guyane, and Digicel publishes public 3G and 4G coverage views. For most travellers, the safest choice is still the package that fits the places where you will actually use your phone. [2] [3] [4]
When should I install and activate my eSIM?
Install it when convenient, but check the package start rule first. In the catalog, some packages start on first connection while others can start on purchase, so the package screen should guide when to install early and when to wait. [12]
