How far will your data go?
Choose an allowance to see what it could cover. Quality, compression and background activity change actual usage.
With 3 GB, approximately…
Send photos
≈ 600 photosExample: 5 MB per photo
Upload your own videos
≈ 47 clipsExample: a 1-minute Full HD clip ≈ 63 MB
Watch video
≈ 1 hrHD example: 3 GB per hour
At standard quality: ≈ 4 hr 17 min
Make video calls
≈ 2 hr 46 min1:1 at 720p: ≈ 1.08 GB per hour
Each result uses the whole allowance for that one activity. The results do not add up: maps, messages and other apps share the same data.
Taking photos or recording video on your phone does not itself use mobile data. Sending, watching or backing them up over the mobile network does.

Where these estimates come from
Planning examples, not guaranteed totals. We use 1 GB = 1,000 MB, round down complete files and minutes, and exclude overhead, retries and background traffic.
- 5 MB is Verizon’s high-resolution photo example. Your files can be smaller after compression or much larger as originals or RAW. Check the actual file size on your phone. Verizon ↗
- 63 MB models a 1-minute H.264 Full HD export at 24–30 fps using YouTube’s recommended video and stereo audio bitrates. It is not a universal camera-file size or the cost of watching a clip. YouTube ↗
- Viewing examples use Netflix’s published rates: up to 0.7 GB/hr at Medium and up to 3 GB/hr in HD. Other apps and quality settings can differ; these are not YouTube playback rates. Netflix ↗
- The call example uses Zoom’s 1:1 720p bandwidth: 1.2 Mbps up and 1.2 Mbps down, together about 1.08 GB/hr. Group calls and higher resolutions can use more. Zoom ↗

On iOS 26, a Turn On Travel eSIM notification may appear after arrival. Choose the travel line for data and check whether you also want to keep your home line active. If no notification appears, use the manual steps below.
Check when your package starts: at payment, installation or first connection. If it starts on installation, install nearer your trip. Installing later does not postpone a package that started at payment.
These screens show settings on the models named below. Your operator and eSIM labels will differ. Screens retain the source language; each caption translates and identifies the control to use. Tap any image for a closer look.

Give the new line a clear name
For example, “Letisim Brazil”, so you can distinguish it from your home SIM. This is a label on your phone; it does not change the number or plan.
iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → new eSIM → Cellular Plan Label → Custom
Google Pixel / Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → new eSIM → Edit name
Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → new eSIM → Name
Huawei: SIM management → SIM 2 → your eSIM → Card name. You can keep the existing label if no rename option is shown.
Honor: SIM management → SIM 2 → eSIM name. Rename it if your MagicOS version offers this option.
Xiaomi / Redmi: Manage eSIM → your plan → Change nickname, if available.
Motorola: Open the new eSIM in SIM settings and use the edit-name option if available.
OPPO: Open the installed profile in eSIM settings and change its label if your ColorOS version allows it.
OnePlus: Open the installed eSIM and edit its name if the option is available.
Line name: Letisim Brazil

Check your connection
Turn off Wi-Fi and open a map or website. If it loads, mobile data is working. If it does not, turn airplane mode on for about 30 seconds, turn it off and wait for a connection. Recheck the selected line and package settings.

No second screen for your QR code?
If the scanner has a gallery button, save the QR from your order and choose that image. If your order includes manual installation details, choose Enter details manually and copy the fields exactly. The available methods depend on your phone and eSIM. If neither is available, contact support; do not scan a sample code from this guide or delete an installed eSIM.
Menu names can differ by phone model and system version.
04 / Operators
Mobile operators in Brazil
Compare network coverage separately from speed. A national result does not predict reception inside your hotel or along a mountain road.
For most trips in Brazil, compare Claro, TIM and Vivo first. Do a coverage check for your exact cities, addresses and road sections before you buy.
Claro
Use Claro’s public coverage page to check the municipalities and routes on your trip, especially outside the main urban areas. [1] [2] [5]
Check coverage ↗TIM
Use TIM’s public coverage page before longer drives or trips beyond the city center. [1] [3] [5]
Check coverage ↗Vivo
Use Vivo’s public mobile coverage page to verify the area you plan to visit. [1] [4] [5]
Check coverage ↗| Operator | Coverage Experience / 10 | Download · Mbps | Study date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claro | — | 49.6 | 2026-01[5] |
| TIM | — | 42.2 | 2026-01[5] |
| Vivo | — | 51.3 | 2026-01[5] |
Coverage Experience is a score, not a percentage of territory. These dated averages are not promised speeds for your connection.
The network in your chosen package is what matters. This country comparison does not mean every plan includes every operator. 5G depends on the package, phone and local coverage.

- Brasília and the Federal District
- Rio de Janeiro and the coast
- Salvador and the Bahia coast
- Chapada Diamantina
Brasília and the Federal District
Within Brasília, mobile data is mainly useful for maps, messages and city transport. If you leave the capital for day trips or longer drives, check coverage for the route first and keep an offline map on your phone. [2] [3] [4] [10] [12]
Rio de Janeiro and the coast
Rio combines urban travel with famous sights such as Christ the Redeemer. Live data is convenient for navigation and rides in the city, while offline maps are a sensible backup for viewpoints, beach moves and full-day outings. [6] [11] [12]
Salvador and the Bahia coast
In Salvador, a regular city package is usually enough for maps, messages and getting around. If your trip continues along the Bahia coast, do a coverage check before departure and keep key places saved offline. [7] [10] [12]
Chapada Diamantina
Trips here often include longer road sections and trail access points. Download offline maps before moving deeper into the park area, and check coverage for the road part of the journey in advance. [2] [3] [4] [8] [12]
Brazil · eSIM
Overview
Brazil is large enough that mobile coverage can feel very different between dense cities, beach areas, highways and river routes. For most travelers, the first networks to compare are Claro, TIM and Vivo. Use each operator’s public coverage page for the exact neighborhoods, airports and road sections on your itinerary. If your trip includes parks, long drives or boat transfers, keep offline maps saved before leaving the main urban area.
On this store, available Brazil eSIM packages may use Claro or TIM depending on the product, and the package page is the place to confirm the included network. Validity rules also vary by package: some start from first connection, while others start from purchase. Opensignal’s January 2026 report gives a useful national download-speed reference for Brazil, but it does not replace checking coverage for your own route and stops.
Useful apps and travel tools
Before you buy
Check coverage before long road or river sections
Brazil is large enough that the mobile experience can change a lot between one city and the next. Before a long drive, coastal transfer or river segment, compare your route with the operator coverage pages instead of relying on a general national impression. [2] [3] [4] [6] [7] [8] [9]
Check when your package starts
You can keep the eSIM ready before departure, but the validity rule depends on the package. Some packages start from first connection, while others start from purchase, so check the chosen package before installation or activation and save offline maps as a backup. [13] [12]
06 / FAQ
Questions about eSIM in Brazil
Which networks should I compare in Brazil?
Start with Claro, TIM and Vivo. They are the main networks most travelers compare, but the right choice depends on your actual route. Check coverage for your hotel area, airport, beaches, road sections and any park or river segment you plan to use. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Is one eSIM package enough for both cities and longer routes?
Often yes, if the package matches how much traffic you will use for maps, messaging, work, music or video and how long the trip lasts. Longer routes matter more for coverage checks than for automatically buying more data, so review both your traffic needs and the route itself. [2] [3] [4] [8] [9] [12]
Can I rely on mobile internet in Rio, Salvador or Brasília?
For everyday travel tasks such as navigation, rides and messages, these cities are the easiest places to use mobile data. Even so, signal can vary by neighborhood, building and route, so it is worth checking coverage for the exact areas you will use and keeping offline maps ready. [2] [3] [4] [6] [7] [10] [11] [12]
When should I install or activate the eSIM?
You can prepare the eSIM before the trip, but always check the start rule of the package you choose. In this catalog, some packages start validity on first connection and others start from purchase, so the package page should guide when to install and when to turn it on. [13]
