How far will your data go?
Choose an allowance to see what it could cover. Quality, compression and background activity change actual usage.
With 3 GB, approximately…
Send photos
≈ 600 photosExample: 5 MB per photo
Upload your own videos
≈ 47 clipsExample: a 1-minute Full HD clip ≈ 63 MB
Watch video
≈ 1 hrHD example: 3 GB per hour
At standard quality: ≈ 4 hr 17 min
Make video calls
≈ 2 hr 46 min1:1 at 720p: ≈ 1.08 GB per hour
Each result uses the whole allowance for that one activity. The results do not add up: maps, messages and other apps share the same data.
Taking photos or recording video on your phone does not itself use mobile data. Sending, watching or backing them up over the mobile network does.

Where these estimates come from
Planning examples, not guaranteed totals. We use 1 GB = 1,000 MB, round down complete files and minutes, and exclude overhead, retries and background traffic.
- 5 MB is Verizon’s high-resolution photo example. Your files can be smaller after compression or much larger as originals or RAW. Check the actual file size on your phone. Verizon ↗
- 63 MB models a 1-minute H.264 Full HD export at 24–30 fps using YouTube’s recommended video and stereo audio bitrates. It is not a universal camera-file size or the cost of watching a clip. YouTube ↗
- Viewing examples use Netflix’s published rates: up to 0.7 GB/hr at Medium and up to 3 GB/hr in HD. Other apps and quality settings can differ; these are not YouTube playback rates. Netflix ↗
- The call example uses Zoom’s 1:1 720p bandwidth: 1.2 Mbps up and 1.2 Mbps down, together about 1.08 GB/hr. Group calls and higher resolutions can use more. Zoom ↗

On iOS 26, a Turn On Travel eSIM notification may appear after arrival. Choose the travel line for data and check whether you also want to keep your home line active. If no notification appears, use the manual steps below.
Check when your package starts: at payment, installation or first connection. If it starts on installation, install nearer your trip. Installing later does not postpone a package that started at payment.
These screens show settings on the models named below. Your operator and eSIM labels will differ. Screens retain the source language; each caption translates and identifies the control to use. Tap any image for a closer look.

Give the new line a clear name
For example, “Letisim Seychelles”, so you can distinguish it from your home SIM. This is a label on your phone; it does not change the number or plan.

Google Pixel / Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → new eSIM → Edit name
Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → new eSIM → Name
Huawei: SIM management → SIM 2 → your eSIM → Card name. You can keep the existing label if no rename option is shown.
Honor: SIM management → SIM 2 → eSIM name. Rename it if your MagicOS version offers this option.
Xiaomi / Redmi: Manage eSIM → your plan → Change nickname, if available.
Motorola: Open the new eSIM in SIM settings and use the edit-name option if available.
OPPO: Open the installed profile in eSIM settings and change its label if your ColorOS version allows it.
OnePlus: Open the installed eSIM and edit its name if the option is available.
Line name: Letisim Seychelles

No second screen for your QR code?
If the scanner has a gallery button, save the QR from your order and choose that image. If your order includes manual installation details, choose Enter details manually and copy the fields exactly. The available methods depend on your phone and eSIM. If neither is available, contact support; do not scan a sample code from this guide or delete an installed eSIM.
Menu names can differ by phone model and system version.
04 / Operators
Mobile operators in Seychelles
Compare network coverage separately from speed. A national result does not predict reception inside your hotel or along a mountain road.
The national mobile network list is based on SCRA materials that identify the active mobile operators in Seychelles. It is a practical traveller list, not a promise that every eSIM package supports every network.
Airtel Seychelles
Ask Airtel Seychelles about mobile coverage at your accommodation and along your route. Check the network listed in the eSIM package before purchase. [1] [2] [3]
Official website ↗Cable & Wireless Seychelles
The mobile page lists prepaid, postpaid, eSIM, roaming and 5G entry points, so it is the best public starting point for checking service options before a trip. It does not replace a route-specific coverage test for your hotel, bay or ferry transfer. [4] [7] [2]
Check coverage ↗The network in your chosen package is what matters. This country comparison does not mean every plan includes every operator. 5G depends on the package, phone and local coverage.

Victoria and Mahé arrival areas
For an arrival in Victoria or a first stay on Mahé, it is sensible to install the eSIM before departure so maps, messaging and taxi apps work as soon as you land. The official tourism transport page shows that taxis, minibuses, coaches, ferries and domestic air services are part of normal trip planning, so having data ready helps with transfers and hotel check-in details. [5] [6] [4]
Beau Vallon and the north-west coast
Beach stays are easiest when your phone is ready before you reach the hotel. Around Beau Vallon, live data is most useful for navigation, restaurant plans and ride coordination, while offline maps remain a sensible backup if you move between coves, hillside accommodation and the main road. [4] [5] [6]
La Digue and inter-island ferry routes
For La Digue, the practical issue is not just the island itself but the ferry journey and the handoff between ports, bikes and accommodation. Save hotel contacts, return times and route notes in advance, because the tourism app is built to help travellers plan island moves and nearby places before they rely on live data. [5] [6]
Morne Seychellois National Park and inland Mahé
If your route includes trails, viewpoints or inland roads, prepare for more variable data than on the main waterfronts. Download directions and accommodation details first, then treat mobile data as a helpful layer for updates, rather than the only way to navigate or contact your driver. [5] [6] [4]

What to expect from mobile data in Seychelles
Seychelles has a small mobile market, and the regulator’s materials identify Airtel Seychelles and Cable & Wireless Seychelles as the active mobile operators. For travellers, the useful question is not only who operates in the country, but which network tools and service options fit the islands, beaches and ferry routes on your itinerary.
The smartest setup is to plan around your own route: airport arrival on Mahé, beach stays around Victoria or Beau Vallon, and boat transfers to La Digue or other islands. The official tourism site and the tourism app both focus on getting around, island planning and practical trip details, which makes pre-trip installation valuable when you want maps, messaging and transport info without depending on airport Wi-Fi.

Before you buy
A prepared phone makes island transfers smoother
For Seychelles, the most useful habit is to install the eSIM before you need it and keep key trip details offline. Ferry times, hotel addresses and transport contacts are worth saving in advance because mobile data matters most when you are already moving between islands or checking in after arrival. [5] [6]
Use operator pages for practical coverage checks
The regulator identifies the mobile market, while the operator pages show the services each network offers. For travellers, that combination is more useful than generic advice, because the exact bay, slope or transfer point can matter as much as the island name itself. [1] [2] [3] [4]
06 / FAQ
Questions about eSIM in Seychelles
Which mobile operators matter most in Seychelles?
The regulator’s current materials point to Airtel Seychelles and Cable & Wireless Seychelles as the active mobile operators. For a visitor, the right choice usually comes down to where you will actually stay and move: Victoria, a beach area on Mahé, or an island transfer to La Digue. Checking the operator’s own service pages before you buy is more useful than relying on a general country-level assumption. [1] [2] [3] [4]
Is it better to install the eSIM before arrival?
Usually yes. Installing before travel gives you time to complete the setup while you have stable internet and avoids depending on airport Wi-Fi after landing. That matters in Seychelles because the first things many travellers need are maps, hotel contact details and a quick way to coordinate taxis or transfers. [5] [6]
Can one plan cover Mahé, La Digue and short boat trips?
One plan can be enough for a multi-island trip, but the real test is whether the network behind it works well where you spend time. In Seychelles, movement between islands is normal, so it helps to save ferry details, accommodation contacts and offline maps in advance, then use mobile data as live support rather than your only navigation tool. [5] [6] [4]
How do I judge coverage for a beach stay?
Look at the operator’s own public service information and compare it with your exact area, not just the island name. A hotel near Victoria, a bay like Beau Vallon or a hillside property on Mahé can all feel different in practice. Terrain, distance from the road and the property’s position matter, so a generic promise is less useful than a network-specific check. [4] [5] [1]
Do I still need my home SIM when using a data eSIM?
Yes. A data eSIM gives you mobile data, while your home SIM may still be used for calls or SMS depending on your device and settings. Keeping the roles separate helps you avoid confusion about which line handles data and which line might still trigger roaming charges. [6] [4]
