How far will your data go?
Choose an allowance to see what it could cover. Quality, compression and background activity change actual usage.
With 3 GB, approximately…
Send photos
≈ 600 photosExample: 5 MB per photo
Upload your own videos
≈ 47 clipsExample: a 1-minute Full HD clip ≈ 63 MB
Watch video
≈ 1 hrHD example: 3 GB per hour
At standard quality: ≈ 4 hr 17 min
Make video calls
≈ 2 hr 46 min1:1 at 720p: ≈ 1.08 GB per hour
Each result uses the whole allowance for that one activity. The results do not add up: maps, messages and other apps share the same data.
Taking photos or recording video on your phone does not itself use mobile data. Sending, watching or backing them up over the mobile network does.

Where these estimates come from
Planning examples, not guaranteed totals. We use 1 GB = 1,000 MB, round down complete files and minutes, and exclude overhead, retries and background traffic.
- 5 MB is Verizon’s high-resolution photo example. Your files can be smaller after compression or much larger as originals or RAW. Check the actual file size on your phone. Verizon ↗
- 63 MB models a 1-minute H.264 Full HD export at 24–30 fps using YouTube’s recommended video and stereo audio bitrates. It is not a universal camera-file size or the cost of watching a clip. YouTube ↗
- Viewing examples use Netflix’s published rates: up to 0.7 GB/hr at Medium and up to 3 GB/hr in HD. Other apps and quality settings can differ; these are not YouTube playback rates. Netflix ↗
- The call example uses Zoom’s 1:1 720p bandwidth: 1.2 Mbps up and 1.2 Mbps down, together about 1.08 GB/hr. Group calls and higher resolutions can use more. Zoom ↗

On iOS 26, a Turn On Travel eSIM notification may appear after arrival. Choose the travel line for data and check whether you also want to keep your home line active. If no notification appears, use the manual steps below.
Check when your package starts: at payment, installation or first connection. If it starts on installation, install nearer your trip. Installing later does not postpone a package that started at payment.
These screens show settings on the models named below. Your operator and eSIM labels will differ. Screens retain the source language; each caption translates and identifies the control to use. Tap any image for a closer look.

Give the new line a clear name
For example, “Letisim Spain”, so you can distinguish it from your home SIM. This is a label on your phone; it does not change the number or plan.
iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → new eSIM → Cellular Plan Label → Custom
Google Pixel / Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → new eSIM → Edit name
Samsung: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → new eSIM → Name
Huawei: SIM management → SIM 2 → your eSIM → Card name. You can keep the existing label if no rename option is shown.
Honor: SIM management → SIM 2 → eSIM name. Rename it if your MagicOS version offers this option.
Xiaomi / Redmi: Manage eSIM → your plan → Change nickname, if available.
Motorola: Open the new eSIM in SIM settings and use the edit-name option if available.
OPPO: Open the installed profile in eSIM settings and change its label if your ColorOS version allows it.
OnePlus: Open the installed eSIM and edit its name if the option is available.
Line name: Letisim Spain

Check roaming in your package guide
If your eSIM instructions require data roaming, enable it for the Letisim line. Keep data roaming off on your home SIM. If an APN is specified, use the exact value in your own package’s guide.
iPhone: Settings → Cellular / Mobile Service → Letisim → Data Roaming (sometimes under Cellular Data Options)
Google Pixel / Android: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Letisim → Roaming
Samsung: First select Letisim for mobile data, then Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Data roaming
Huawei: Open Mobile network → Mobile data and check data roaming for the travel SIM. Follow the settings in your package guide.
Honor: In the mobile-network settings, open the travel SIM’s data settings and enable roaming only if your package requires it.
Xiaomi / Redmi: In Mobile networks, open the travel SIM’s data-roaming settings. Use the roaming and APN values from your package guide.
Motorola: Open the travel eSIM’s network settings and check Roaming against your package instructions.
OPPO: Open the travel SIM’s mobile-network settings and enable data roaming if required by your package.
OnePlus: Open the travel SIM’s settings and check Data roaming against the instructions for your own package.

Check your connection
Turn off Wi-Fi and open a map or website. If it loads, mobile data is working. If it does not, turn airplane mode on for about 30 seconds, turn it off and wait for a connection. Recheck the selected line and package settings.

No second screen for your QR code?
If the scanner has a gallery button, save the QR from your order and choose that image. If your order includes manual installation details, choose Enter details manually and copy the fields exactly. The available methods depend on your phone and eSIM. If neither is available, contact support; do not scan a sample code from this guide or delete an installed eSIM.
Menu names can differ by phone model and system version.
04 / Operators
Mobile operators in Spain
Compare network coverage separately from speed. A national result does not predict reception inside your hotel or along a mountain road.
Spain has several major mobile operators. The list below keeps to the operators supported by the public sources used here, while the network on your eSIM depends on the package you choose.

05 / Coverage
Coverage across Spain
Check the addresses and roads you will actually use. Save maps and booking details before leaving Wi-Fi.
- Madrid
- Costa Brava
- Costa del Sol
- Gran Canaria
Madrid
Madrid is an easy first stop for an eSIM because airport transfer, metro, buses, tickets and navigation all work better with mobile data. The city also has some official Wi‑Fi points, so you may get online in fixed locations, but an eSIM is what keeps maps and messages working between them. [7] [8] [9]
Costa Brava
Costa Brava trips often mix coastal towns, beaches and short drives, so data is most useful for directions, parking, bookings and messaging on the move. As the destination stretches along the coast, it is worth checking coverage for your exact base and downloading offline maps before day trips. [10]
Costa del Sol
Costa del Sol works best when you think beyond one hotel area. If your trip includes beach days, airport transfers and visits to different towns, steady data helps with directions, reservation changes and everyday communication while moving along the coast. [11]
Gran Canaria
Gran Canaria can combine city time, resort stays and island drives in one trip. Your data use will depend on how often you move between beaches, viewpoints and accommodation, so choose a package for your trip length and app use rather than relying only on hotel Wi‑Fi. [12]
Spain · eSIM
Spain connectivity overview
Spain has several major mobile operators, and public coverage tools are available for some of them. For travellers, the practical first step is to check the towns, airports, stations or coastal bases on your route instead of assuming one network will feel the same everywhere. In the supplied catalog, partner networks shown on Spain packages include Movistar and Orange, but the package page is the one to trust for the specific network attached to the eSIM you choose.
Your data needs depend less on the region name and more on how you travel. Maps, train tickets, flight updates, taxi apps, messaging and photo backup can add up quickly over a day. If you move between Madrid, seaside towns and islands, choose a package for your trip length and usual app use. Installation is usually straightforward, but check the package start rule before installing early: some packages begin on first connection, while others begin on purchase.
Useful apps and travel tools
Before you buy
Official Wi‑Fi can help at fixed points
Madrid’s tourism service notes free Wi‑Fi at some tourist information points and in parts of Barajas airport. Renfe and Aena also publish official mobile services for rail and air travel. In practice, that makes Wi‑Fi useful for short tasks while you arrive or wait, while an eSIM keeps you connected during transfers and city travel. [7] [13] [14]
Check coverage by stop, then choose package size
In Spain, some operators publish public mobile coverage maps, while others only publish mobile coverage information pages. For travellers, the useful step is to check the main stops on the route and then choose a package based on trip length and everyday app use such as maps, tickets, messaging and bookings. 06 / FAQ
Questions about eSIM in Spain
Which Spain eSIM package should I choose for a short city trip?
For a short city break, a smaller package can be enough if you mainly use maps, messaging, tickets and occasional taxi apps. If you expect heavier use such as regular streaming, hotspot use or frequent uploads, choose more data. The best fit depends on your trip length and how you normally use apps outside the hotel. [8] [13] [14]
Can I use one eSIM across Madrid and the coast?
Yes, one Spain eSIM can suit a route that combines Madrid with coastal stops, as long as the package has enough data for the whole trip. Think about how your usage changes on travel days, when you often need more navigation, bookings and messaging than during a quiet hotel stay. [8] [10] [11]
How do I check coverage for my route in Spain?
Use the public operator coverage tools linked on this page for your main stops, such as the airport area, your accommodation and the towns you plan to visit. Some operators publish full public mobile coverage maps, while others only publish coverage information pages, so it is worth checking the exact places that matter to your itinerary. [2] [3] [4] [5] [6]
Which network can my Spain eSIM use?
In the supplied catalog, Spain packages may use Movistar or Orange. Always check the package page before you buy, because the network shown on one package does not mean every Spain eSIM uses the same operator. [16]
Do I still need an eSIM if my hotel has Wi‑Fi?
Usually yes. Hotel Wi‑Fi helps when you are back at the property, but you still need mobile data for transfers, directions, tickets, flight or train updates and messages while you are out. Official Wi‑Fi exists in some fixed locations, but an eSIM is what keeps you connected between them. [7] [13] [14]
When should I install my Spain eSIM?
You can install it before the trip if your device is compatible, but first check when the package validity starts. In the supplied catalog, some packages start on first connection and others start on purchase, so the package screen should guide your timing. [16]
